What questions do you have for me?

How did you become a coach?

I have always been a “coach” at heart. Whether by leading art classes for the neighborhood kids in my art room growing up, or helping someone new to the school to make friends, I seem to have been wired to support others and help them connect with their potential.

As a leader within a large corporation, I took part in or led many important initiatives for my company. That said, I often struggled to find the work personally fulfilling. For some reason, it didn’t light my fire. I worked long hours and was stressed out most of the time. Keeping up with my job and my personal obligations left me drained, edgy, and overwhelmed. Eventually, I made a scary, yet exciting decision to invest in myself and embark on a journey to find what I really wanted from life, and what I wanted to give to others.

From there, I found both emotional and energy healing and coaching. At first, I learned a variety of fantastic healing modalities, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. Yet the power of great coaching really captivated me after witnessing the magic that’s created when a coach and client work as a team. So I decided to train as a coach with one of the best professional coaching organizations in the world, The Coaches Training Institute (CTI). And here I am!

Who are your clients?

My clients are AWESOME, successful professionals who work hard and are committed to their careers and those they love. They are dedicated people who are just trying to get it all done and stay sane! (Haven’t we all been there?!?)

But here’s what makes them unique. My clients know that something in their lives isn’t working for them as well as they’d like. They aren’t really growing and learning anymore; they are just going through the motions. They know they are being called to expand and thrive in an area where they have a greater sense of purpose and can have a real impact on the lives of others. My clients are ready and willing to make an investment in themselves, their happiness, and their futures. They are open-minded to new ways of thinking and know that they need the support and accountability that a coach provides to face their fears and become their best selves!

How are you different from other coaches?

That’s a great question! I love working with people, and am often told I am a uniquely approachable person who sees the very best in the people. This doesn’t mean I don’t challenge my clients. I do! It just means that they know it comes from a place of sincere caring and not from a place of “fixing.”

Also, I have lived in “shoes” that resemble those of my clients. I’ve spent ample time in cubicles and meeting rooms – managing people, projects, and politics. And, although I am well-traveled, I live in the city where I grew up and all my family still lives, so balancing the needs of close friends and family with my own are very real.

Finally, my training in emotional and energy healing allows me to approach my clients differently. I am able to hold space for them to grow and heal simultaneously, and also provide tools and insights that may not be offered by others. I understand my role as a guide for my clients on their deeper personal journey; I want my clients to live as the brilliant souls that they are!

What kind of personality do you work best with?

I work best with motivated individuals who are open-minded, open-hearted, and are ready and willing to explore their deeper needs through our work together. Hiring a coach takes courage and I work best with people who have the courage to step up their game! My clients are ready to take personal responsibility for their own growth – and are excited for the challenges they will encounter in the process.

What kind of personality do you NOT work well with?

As a coach, I don’t provide answers to my clients; I lead and support them in ways that allow them to connect with their own inner wisdom and strength for the best answers to their questions. In other words, if someone is looking for me to take on their problems so that they don’t have to change or grow, I am NOT interested in having them as a client. Anyone who would rather make excuses for staying stuck instead of making change, or stay a victim instead of claiming their own genius, is not someone who I will work well with.

How do you work? What can I expect?

I work with clients who are ready to take their lives to the next level and own their brilliance. This type of true transformation happens through consistent interactions between client and coach. I meet (either by phone or in person) with each of my clients three times a month. I am also accessible via e-mail for questions throughout our engagement, and often check in on the weeks when we don’t have a live coaching call or meeting. I want to make sure my clients have the support they need during this time of accelerated change!

As you can probably tell, I am extremely committed to my clients’ success. I ask for the same level of commitment to their own success from each of them. Therefore, I work with each client for a minimum of six months at a time. We begin with an extended initial session that builds a firm foundation for our coaching relationship, and then use assessments and other coaching tools, as needed, to facilitate breakthroughs over time. It can take strength and persistence to un-hook from all of your “leashes!” J Given this, I do not schedule single sessions with clients.

As my client, you can expect me to arrive to each session eager to hold space for your overall agenda, and your immediate needs. Every coaching session will be unique, and your needs as a client will change from week to week (I will be shocked if they don’t!). I’ll come prepared to help you move forward from wherever you are.

Why do I need you? Can’t I just do this on my own?

There is nothing stopping you from taking this journey on your own. I, myself, tried going for it alone at first. But here’s what I learned, and what I’ve learned from others.

Transforming on our own is hard to do. Why? Because it requires us to think and act differently than we actually know how! And, as if that wasn’t a big enough challenge, our brains like to keep us safe (and stuck) in our comfort zones. So it tricks us into believing that staying where we are is better for us. Even when it isn’t! Engaging with a coach like me gives you another set of eyes to look through and see new possibilities. A coach also provides encouragement, tools, and techniques to work though each new challenge that shows up. And show up they do!

If you’re here, I’m guessing you’ve been going at this on your own for a while. And I suspect you’ve taken one step forward and two steps back more often than you’d like. It takes real courage to ask for help from others. It doesn’t mean you’re weak or broken. It actually means that you are serious about breaking free from “ho-hum” and ready for “no limits!”

What results can I expect?

To unleash your brilliance, of course! J That means you can expect to overcome the fears and barriers that have been keeping you stuck and small. You can expect to gain new insights, see new possibilities, and connect with the things in life that light you up! Expect to make big moves and accomplish things you didn’t believe were possible. If you are willing to be honest with yourself and stretch out of your comfort zone, you can accomplish whatever you set out to achieve. Honestly.

You could actually write that book that’s been calling you, or start a foundation to support the cause that matters to you most. Or start a new business in a brand new field of interest, or devote more time to a charity you believe in. It’s possible you will move to a new city, take up a new hobby, or all these things and more! But most of all, you will learn more about those things that fulfill you in life so that you can make sure to include plenty of it in whatever you do.

I’m really busy and overwhelmed. How much time is involved before I get results?

Here’s the great news. After our first official session, clients almost always begin to see the sources of their stress. They finish the session knowing what they are ready to conquer. By the end of our second session, most clients have committed to action, and the first results easily follow. More results come with each subsequent session and action. Clients who are committed to growth and willing to act in faith make huge strides. It’s all what you put into it.

Can I contact other clients you’ve worked with?

Of course you can! Send me an e-mail at, and I will connect you with someone who can share with you her/his experience working with me.

I’ve never invested in myself like this before. How can I justify this expense?

I’m glad you asked this question. Many people never invest in themselves in this way because they can’t get past the fear of “spending” the money.

I remember the sheer panic I felt the first time I considered investing in myself at a similar level. I was terrified, and kept asking myself, “Are you crazy?” But once I realized that I was in the place that I was at the time because I hadn’t invested in my personal development, continuing with the status quo was not an option.

Working one-on-one with a coach is an investment in you and your future capabilities, similar to the investments you have made in your education or professional certifications. With that lens, I think you will see that you and your happiness are worth the investment.

If I’m not quite ready to get started, is there a way to sample your work?
